Objectives

To design and develop nuclear instrumentation and general electronic modules, develop system engineering management plan for nuclear reactor and other research equipment, design and implement prototype maintenance support systems for real time operation and maintenance of reactor and other research equipment as well as document and disseminate the knowledge on these areas to Nigerians.

 

 

 

 

 

Research Areas:

  1. Nuclear Instrumentation including fabrication of Printed Circuit Board and SMDs for nuclear instrumentation modules and general electronics applications.
  2. Design and Development of microcontroller-based control systems for reactor and other associated systems.
  3. Design and development of Artificial intelligence systems for maintenance and operator support services for nuclear reactors and other associated systems.
  4. Modeling and Simulation of Nuclear Power Plant Processes.
  5. Modeling and Simulations of general energy systems planning.

Training Programmes

  1. Short course on protection of electronics instruments
  2. Short course on QA/QC standards for maintenance and repair workshops
  3. Short course on advanced troubleshooting skills
  4. Any other related course on demand
